RunnersConnect 2.0: Big changes to help you train!

As you’ve seen since you logged in, we’ve made some amazing changes to the dashboard and overall design of RunnersConnect. I know we’ve had some hiccups as we implement all the new designs, but I hope you’re enjoying it so far!

In addition to the facelift, we’ve also been conducting a lot of surveys and analyzing data about the features you’re using most. The result is a transformation and improvement, based on member feedback, in how we provide coaching support and your training schedule.

So, what does this mean for you? What will change?

1. Shifting training feedback

We know that daily feedback on logged runs, while often enjoyable and helpful, is not the best way to help you and to utilize our coaches’ expertise. Many times the daily feedback we can provide on a run or workout doesn’t translate to a significant impact to your plan moving forward.

This means you will no longer receive feedback from a coach on every logged workout.

What we think will help more, and what we will concentrate on moving forward, is focusing on important feedback, like schedule adjustments and help with injuries. The result will be more focus on your schedule and the actual training each day.

Therefore, there are now three ways in which you can ask a question…

  1. Directly in your log. Just click “I need feedback” on the last question and let us know what you need help with. Sharing is no longer required to get something answered (but you can still share). This option is best for questions directly related to the workout you’re doing or something you need adjusted in your training schedule.
  2. The second place is the activity stream. Just click ‘Ask Question’, type your question, and submit. These do go to the community. This is best for more general training questions, theory, etc.
  3. The third place is the forums. Like the activity stream, the forums are public, but are better suited to questions on advice, or big topics that are relevant for a greater period of time, since stream posts eventually no longer appear at the top of the stream.

If you have further questions, please visit this page in the forum where we’ve explained more and you can see other questions asked: https://discuss.runnersconnect.net/t/im-not-getting-feedback-from-the-coaches-on-my-runs-after-the-update/6393/3

2. Lower prices

We’ve also heard your feedback on the pricing. As such, we are lowering the price from $49 to $39/month with the yearly discount dropped to $29/month annually.

We will prorate your account so you can take advantage of the discount right away by crediting you the difference between now and when your membership renews next month. The discount/credit will be reflected on your next payment.

We’ve found that one of the elements holding runners back the most is a lack of effective training between goal races. We hope this pricing allows you to maintain your RunnersConnect membership and make long-term progress with your running.

3. More than just running

We know that the miles or kilometers you run are just part of being a better runner, so we’re making it easier to access plans and information on strength training, nutrition, cross training, stretching and more.

Not only will these additions be easier to access and integrate directly into your plan, but we’ll be constantly working to make them better for you. You have access to nutrition meal plans, a myriad of fitness challenges, and expert courses on mental training, yoga, stretching and more.

Here’s how to access all of these resources within your new dashboard:

4. Better community (without needing to share)

We know that the requirement to share workouts has been a sticking point for many members.

So, we’ve eliminated the need to share your workouts to get help with schedule adjustments.

However, we are putting more resources into community features that better help you.

This means making your community on RunnersConnect more helpful. We are making it easier to filter the stream for other members who are running the same race, have the same goals, or are in the same age group. We’re also making it easier to find and get feedback on races, gear and more.

The result is a much more personalized experience.

5. Mobile app

We hope you’re enjoying the new design to view and log your workouts. Our next step, which we hope to release very soon, is a native mobile app. We want to make using runnersconnect on your phone a seamless and amazing experience.

We don’t have an exact release date yet, but we are working on it as fast as we can and are excited to launch it live!

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions, feel free to respond in the stream or forums.
