Coach Jay Johnson Joins the RunnersConnect Team

jay johnson coachingHave you ever wondered what it would be like to be trained by a coach who works with National Champions and Olympians?  Someone who could take the same strategies, approaches to training, and innovating workouts and apply them to your running?

Now you can!

Usually our blog posts contain lots of awesome injury prevention, training and nutrition info, but today we’re very excited to announce a new member to the RunnersConnect coaching team – Jay Johnson.

If you don’t know who Coach Jay is, that’s ok. Sit back and get ready to be impressed by this coaching resume.

Coach Jay has a Master’s degree in kinesiology (the study of how the body moves) and applied physiology, he is the director of the Boulder Running Camps, a writer for Active.com and RunningTimes, a presenter for various Nike sponsored clinics and camps, and he has coached three athletes to US Championships in the last three years.

Recently, Coach Jay has turned his attention to coaching adult runners; including Boston qualifiers, Masters runners, and new runners to the sport.

Perhaps Coach Jay’s greatest strength is his unique ability to combine his knowledge of exercise physiology from the traditional classroom setting with the personal experience of being an elite runner himself and from personally working with some of the best runners in the country.

Coach Jay is available for Personal Coaching starting this week, but only to members of our email list and blog. Because Coach Jay is such a prominent and sought after coach, his availability will fill up quickly.

To ensure that each runner we work with has the absolute best training experience and our full attention, we limit the number of athletes we personally coach. So, if you’ve been thinking about getting a coach, don’t wait around this time. Be one of the few who take action, rather than the many who wait around saying “someday.” Click here to start being coached by Jay now!

If you don’t need personal coaching, you’re still going to learn a lot from Coach Jay as he becomes a more frequent contributor to our blog…As if you didn’t need more reasons to keep coming back to our site! In the meantime, here is a podcast we did with Coach Jay a few weeks back.

A big welcome to the RunnersConnect team to Coach Jay and stay tuned for even more great training info!
