2 Personal Bests and Age Group awards highlight the great weekend of races for Team RunnersConnect

Razvan Pop ran the Cernica Running Trails (10k) and finished with a time of 49:54.

Race name is wrong. It was Cernica Running Trails, and it was a forest run. Felt like being much more tiring than the forest race 1 week before, terrain was little different, rainy weather, even though while running only light rain pouring and the paths were not really muddy.

All in all I pushed myself quite hard, got a time with 4 minutes bigger than the previous week (for a route 300m longer), but this was generally for all runners, not for me only — and it was due to the terrain. I succeeded to get also here 2nd place in the Age Group, so I am quite please with the result! 🙂

Razvan Pop ran the Raiffeisen Bucharest 10k, finishing this distance in the time of 45:53.

This was one of my best races — stars were probably aligned 🙂 — I got 2nd place in the Age Group and a fantastic — for me — and for the forest terrain — pace of 4:06 min/km. I ran like 7 or 8 times on that forest route and 2nd best time I had was like 4:30/km, October 2023.

I pushed myself especially after km7, and as well as you can see km10 was the slowest. Good weather, 9C, and good shape, even though I traversing a tiring period, made this possible.

Dennis Detweiler ran the Richmond Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:41:05. This was a personal record by 5 minutes!

The weather was perfect and was able to take advantage of the fast course. It was a short training cycle between the Chicago Marathon and this half but it worked. The last 5K felt like it was all downhill to the finish.

Christine Lee ran the Pumpkin Pie 10k and finished this race in the time of 45:58. This was a new personal record by 1 minute!

I made a PR. Made split time. Noticed that I overheated a little bit during the race. Next time, if the temperature is in the 40s F, it is okay to wear less clothing to prevent overheating. Also, don’t have any plans day before the race. That day should be just to relax and work if the day before is a week day. The race helps with providing direction for the half marathon in December.

Robin Whitley ran the NYC Marathon and completed this race event in the time of 7:24:36.

My goal was to feel good. And I did until my left insole started digging into my left foot and pushed my left foot into the front of my shoe. Initially I thought it was another insole issue but, no, it was entirely my fault…I didn’t seat it correctly when I put it in my shoe a few days before. My left big toe hurt for the next two weeks.
