Joe Allen ran the Rotary Lake 5k and finished this distance in the time of 30:15.
This was my first race of the year on a tough, hilly course, finishing with a steep 1/2 mile hill to the finish. We also had a very warm day (68 degrees) for this time of the year in Ohio. At 75, I have to forget about how I used to run this race but settled into a good pace. We go around a small lake twice on a series of hills and the second loop is the steepest. Started passing my target runners around Mile 2 and finished strong on what seemed like a never ending hill at the end. Felt like I ran as well as I could and won my age group. Yippee! Good way to start off the 2025 running year.
Katrina Lindsay ran the World Masters 10k and finished with a time of 39:29.
World Masters Gainesville 2025. Competing for BVI, I finished 5th in my age category and 16th overall out of 105 competitors.
Nicole Cornish ran the Bearathon Half Marathon and finished this race in the time of 3:06:00.
I’ve wanted to run this particular race for a long time. The day before, I came down with a stomach virus. I was dehydrated, under fueled, and not well rested. It’s the slowest time I’ve ran, but I finished with some really hard circumstances.
