An incredible weekend for Team RunnersConnect as athletes notch 2 Personal Bests

Razvan Pop ran the Legal Run 10k and finished with a time of 40:16.

Quite happy, pretty much same result as in 2024 on the same race, 15 seconds better now 🙂

Not sure if approaching something wrong, but second half of the race I lose pace (same happened last year), I see this is normal to some extent. I did not struggle very hard to keep it being afraid not to lose it completely 🙂

First 5k — 18:38
Last 5k — 21:42

All in all, I think it was ok, yet I need to look for some improvement.

Gillian Ross ran the Aquidneck 10k, finishing this distance in the time of 47:11.

Ran with my two best running friends! Very hilly and very cold and windy.. half the race was running into a 14mph headwind with gusts of 30mph.. was not trying to pr here and didn’t but 2nd best finish in quite brutal conditions. 7th out of 101 in age group, 22nd out of 497women and 79th overall out of 796 finishers. Very proud of this effort!

Silvia Gris ran the NYRR United Airlines Half Marathon with a finishing time of 2:11:37. This was a huge personal record by 15 minutes!

Training was very hard because I got sick 3 times, beautiful city, I felt very strong. Also it was very special because was another race that I shared with my husband and it was the first race for one of my sons. 😃

Corrinne Mills ran the Shamrock Shuffle 8k and completed this distance in the time of 47:31.

The Shuffle is always a blast! Decent weather this year, cool and blustery. I’m coming off a tough winter with some lost fitness due to illness and bad weather, but I went out there and put in a sustained effort and tried to push for the finish. Still good enough for 205th out of 922 F45-49. Also, I did something I’ve never done before — I ran with a friend/colleague! He’s usually much faster than me but is coming back from an injury.

Chang Sun ran the Oakland Marathon and finished this race in the time of 3:08:39. This was a massive personal record by 11 minutes!

PR for 11 minutes. The course is harder than I expected. The elevation map does not justify the 2 big climbs. I also wish the temperature was lower, which would probably favor my performance. My speed dropped a lot in the last mile and I was unable to get it up. I think I will work more on hydration for my next race. I would also like to race in a flat course. Lastly, acknowledgement to the coaches. I cannot achieve the PR without you.

Kevin Dollard ran the 2025 USATF World Masters Athletics 8k and completed this race event in the time of 36:55.

Masters world championships held in the US for the first time. Very hot for me having not acclimated to the heat but wound up getting through OK. Finish sixth in the US and 11th in the world in my age group. Also first 69 year-old in the world. For 8K cross country.
