1 Personal Best highlights the great weekend of races for Team RunnersConnect

Siuberto Socarras ran the Publix FORT LAUDERDALE A1A Half Marathon and finished with a time of 2:45:55.

Though my pace and time were not as good as last year, I was able to maintain a negative split for most of the second half of the race.

Brooke George ran the My Better Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:50:50, which was a PR!

This race was a lot of fun! It was cold, but only a few slick spots. I felt strong for this one, and knee pain was minimal. Pretty big PR too!

Terrie Ebert ran the Mesa Marathon and finished this race in the time of 4:13:42.

Absolutely beautiful morning to run! Great temps and clear skies. Headed to the start line optimistic. I had been struggling with runners knee in left knee for about 3 weeks before race. Cut back training and had to just not run last 8-9 days out. I really just wanted to run this event so I decided to start the race and see how it would go. Started out great! Net downhill first 4 mi which was tricky. Had planned on staying around 9:00-9:10 pace, but that definitely did not happen. Mi 5-6 was all hill which was welcome…at first lol. Mi 7-16 pretty uneventful. Tried to keep an even pace and focus on nutrition. I felt good here! I came through the half at just under 1:57 which was a little quicker than I planned. Mi 17 was a good hill, I know they say this course is flat, but there are definitely some hills here and there as well as false flats! Anyway, knee started acting up on that hill. Tried to just readjust and keep going. Mi 18 & 19 felt ok, but the pain was starting to creep up to IT as well. Going into the last miles I tried stretching a few seconds, anything really, to just get a “reset” and keep going. Things had been looking so good to this point! It was simply not meant to be. Ended up walking/running the rest of the race. Always hard to see that time dwindle away😔 My goal is LONGEVITY in running. It means so much to me to be able to move and run and hike. It just made more sense to let this one go and take care of myself to run another day! ❤️Run blessed.
