Team RunnersConnect racing strong around the world with 1 Personal Best and several Age Group Awards highlighting the weekend

Joe Allen ran the Run for Home 10k and finished with a time of 56:33.

This is always one of my first races of the year. It’s organized by Cleveland Clinic and is always a well run race. The course is pretty flat except for one hill but we had headwinds for about half the race. Really started to click after Mile 4 and finished strong, winning my age group (the old guys) but coming in 26 out of 88 runners, so it was a good day!

Rom Prescott ran the Canberra Times Half Marathon with a finishing time of 2:06:00.

Great run, have not done a half for almost two years, great to get back into it. Set out to do 5:55 min per km, and got very close!

Corrinne Mills ran the CARA Lakefront 5k and finished this distance in the time of 27:24.

Challenging course with a hill at the end, but pretty good conditions: cool, overcast, just a bit breezy. Well-run race on a fun course on the north side of the Lakeshore. I went in feeling pretty good this morning, even though my training has been patchy the last couple weeks. Stuck to my plan with a first mile at 8:30 after a slightly slow start. Kept pushing even though I couldn’t quite make the paces to PR. I blame the hill at mile 2.5! Still, 4th out of 49 in my division F40-49, a solid result.

Emily Myers ran the Wine and Chocolate Run 5k and finished this race in the time of 23:13.

Felt pretty good during the race and am happy with my time considering I haven’t been running that much lately! My HR did not get as high as it usually does during a race. The course was long — I think my avg. pace on Strava was 7:19/mile but on the race website it said 7:28. I got 1st place in my age group!

Tony Malinauskas ran the 7 Mile Obstacle Race 10k and finished in a time of 1:51:27.

First obstacle course race of the year. Did pretty good on obstacles, but poorly on running.

Fred Foxley ran the Paris Marathon and finished with a time of 2:53:56. This was a new personal record by 1:40.

Really great run! Started out slow and built into it, really good middle portion, and felt strong until mile 20. The last 6 was very tough, up hill all the way with cobblestone roads. Persevered but definitely struggled. Other contributing factors were probably the jet lag and the time I spent on my feet the day before. Overall very happy with a PB on a difficult course. Now on to Chicago!
