German Trejo ran the Boston Marathon and finished with a time of 3:45:23.
It was a bit warmer than I prefer but some refreshing breeze. I felt good all the way. All my equipment perform well, no technical issues.
Barbara Hannaford ran the Running is for the Birds 10k, finishing this distance in the time of 1:15:22. This was a PR by 2 minutes!
Wind and rain from mile four on to the end made it tough!
Joe Allen ran the Redbud Trail Challenge 10k with a finishing time of 1:52:54.
This was the most fun I’ve had in a race in a long time. This is a killer course, all up and down steep hills made even more challenging by the rain. We began up a steep 1/4 mile hill so our shoes were caked in mud right from the start. But since you can only get so wet and muddy, soon it didn’t matter.
Ran a good race in the conditions and since I didn’t care about my pace or placement, enjoyed this race more than any I’ve run in a long time. Just running for run, what a concept!
Walter Gonçalves ran the Run Through The Decades Half Marathon and finished in a time of 1:46:41.
A number of us blew past the 8k marker, thinking there would be a marker for the half marathon. So I ended up running 14.4 miles in 1:57:11. This leads to a 1:46:41 time approx. Few people signed up for the race. 41 people total for the full I think. When I ran the Tucson Marathon in December 2024 my half marathon split was about the same. I ran the full at 3:45:21.
Kevin Dollard ran the USATF Masters 10K National Championships and finished this race in the time of 43:57.
Really felt good all the way through on this one. Had two extra gears within the last 200 m to pass a number of guys in my age group. We made the podium and got bronze out of an extremely deep 65 to 69 field. Very happy!
Brandilyn Carpenter ran the Vintage 5k and completed this distance in the time of 37:16.
I was somewhere near the middle of the pack. I had walk breaks in each of the last 3 km–the most during the 4th km–so that is why they were higher. It wasn’t physical so much as mental. Honestly the 6:45-7:00 range felt very comfortable (for race pace obvs). I just spent too much time looking at my watch to check my pace and that backfired—as I got in my head and started thinking “there is no way I can keep this up” even though I know full well that I can! It was hot, humid, and sunny. They really should have started the race an hour earlier, but it was the same for everyone. 4 July will be even hotter, so I just need to get used to it!
Darci Whitney ran the Boston Marathon and finished with a time of 3:54:55.
This was my 12th Boston Marathon and 10th consecutive. I had a decent race, stayed focused, and finished with a BQ time for next year. I’m so grateful that my body has allowed me to accomplish this streak as I know that nothing is guaranteed. The crowds were awesome and the energy was high along the entire course. Lots of fun!!
Harry Blake ran the NOT the London Marathon and completed this race event in the time of 3:09:29, which was a PR!
My first marathon! A bit disappointed with the time (knew that sub 3 would’ve been a stretch, but a shame that sub-3:05 was derailed by severe stitch at mile 24). Overall I’m thrilled with the improvement I’ve made this year and I completed the full training cycle and race without injury. Thanks to all the coaches for the excellent plans and support!
Ashley Holman ran the Run United-Aiken 5k and finished this distance in the time of 19:33.
It was very humid and a little warmer than I like, but the course was pretty flat. We merged with the walk/jog half marathon just before the mile. It was a little challenging maneuvering around large groups. They turned off with maybe .75 to go- just after the rain began. Rain came down pretty steady the last mile and I was in no man’s land after the half turned. Should have pushed a little harder the last mile, but there was no one in sight to chase. Would have liked to be 19:20s, but 19:33 is my fastest 5k of 2025 and 1st female by about 2 minutes! My friend won the 10k.😁 Both won some cash!
Gary Stockard ran the Cap City Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:57:37. This was a personal record by 2:00.
Goal was to break 2 and going in I had no doubt. Felt really good the whole time. Stuck to the training plan, tried to come close to the times..lol. Recovery has been fine but feel really lucky that the warm weather held off a couple of days.
Gary Fowler ran the Illinois Marathon and finished this race event in the time of 4:08:33.
This was my 8th marathon. This one makes the 3rd Illinois Marathon. First marathon since April 2019 was in October 2024. I have slowed down, but gradually working back to better conditioning and closer to a 4-hour finish. The RunnersConnect training program kept me focused on getting into better condition. I felt much stronger in the last 6 miles in this one vs. the October marathon. Progress!
