5 Personal Bests highlight Team RunnersConnect excellent weekend of races in all distances

Katie Palmer ran the Half Marathon Unplugged and finished with a time of 1:44:29. This was a personal record by 2 minutes!

What a race! Sunny start into a light sprinkle from miles 6-8 into some strong winds for miles 9-11 and a strong finish with a few tough pushes on the inclines. Finished really strong with most my effort maxxed out. My left glute held up and my legs still feel good. PR’d right on point at 1:44! I’ll take the 10k PR (48:33) that I wasn’t trying for as well. Negative splitting the 2nd half of the race for another win today. Really really proud of my effort today and also reminding myself that if we had no wind today, those 8 minute miles at the end of race would have been on point for 7:55 or faster.

Justene Adamec ran the Great Race Agoura 10k, finishing this distance in the time of 1:32:59.

I did this race last year as my first ever 10k. I was 12 minutes faster this year. It was wonderful being on the same course. People were gingerly crossing the rain runoff while I ran through yelling “it’s not as deep as last year.

Todd West ran the Space Coast Classic 15k with a finishing time of 1:05:08. This was a new personal record by 5 minutes!

Crushed it on a cool morning. Weight loss, strength training, and discipline pays off.

Deb Stults ran the 7 Mile Bridge Run (10k) and finished in a time of 1:42:10.

It was a beautiful day for racing- 70 degrees with no humidity but- 26 mph headwinds with 28-30 mph gusts. Despite not training as well as I should and being sick most of the last month or so I feel I was successful. I did get picked up by the bus around the 6 mile mark but I easily felt I could have finished without the time constraints. I had energy afterwards and I’m not sore today so I definitely feel like your plan worked to perfection. Thank you so much 😊

Trent Crandall ran the Carmel Marathon and finished this race in the time of 3:13:04.

I am very happy to be able to even make it the to start line for this race. I had a hamstring/glute issue that came up in my last long run and it was touch and go throughout my whole taper. My first half was 1:30:15 and felt really strong until about 23.5 miles when my quads cramped and had to walk on and off for the last bit but given all that was going on I was very pleased to even get to run and finish the race and it was a beautiful day. Was really hoping to get sub 3 but learned a ton in this training block and this race.

Brian Cromer ran a 5k race and completed this distance in the time of 21:44. This was a personal record by 2:12.

I probably would have run faster, but there were 10,000 runners and I had to do a lot of weaving.

Stefanie Shimansky ran the Boston Marathon and finished with a time of 3:10:25.

Really wanted to go for a PR (3:08:27) but like so many others, the heat definitely had me slowing down a little around Newton. Obviously the hills contributed to that as well but I wasn’t able to pick the pace back up post-Heartbreak.

Overall, I felt great and am thrilled with this time, especially in less than ideal temperatures. I never felt dehydrated or depleted but do think I need to work on a better fueling plan moving forward to eventually try to run sub-3.

I can’t thank you all enough for helping me get here. When I first saw my training plan, I told Hayley it was intimidating but I’d trust the process and I’m so glad I did. Every training run prepared me for yesterday!

Emma Collins ran the Jersey City Marathon and finished this race event in the time of 3:34:28. This was a PR by 8 minutes!

What a beautiful day in JC! It was a joy to be outside and racing. I didn’t quite reach my goal due to a pacing mishap but I feel like I had a great training cycle which resulted in a nice PR! Really want to keep this momentum going!

Ava Palazzolo ran the Newport Marathon and finished with a time of 3:31:45, which was a PR!

This race was a major accomplishment for me since it was my first marathon ever! Though I was really hoping to get a BQ time and that is what I had trained for, I am proud that I finished. In terms of what happened, there were a few things out of my control, such as my headphones dying even though I charged them and a water break that caused flooding on the course. After mile 17, I started to fall off course with my pace and unfortunately did get in my head as my feet started to experience lots of discomfort. I have taken that as a sign that it may be time for me to experiment with a different type of running shoe because the ones I wore did not seem to work too well for me. Though I did not do as well as I hoped, I am taking this marathon as even more encouragement and inspiration for my next one!
