1) surprised myself 2) first night race 3) love the race company – race awesome
Wow. Never would have predicted this performance. I had no idea what to expect or even pace beforehand. Strong race throughout and maintained a consistent pace, sprinted to the finish line. And wasn’t even wrecked at the end. Despite all the challenges that I’ve faced the last few months and this week (particularly bad), I rocked this and even got 2nd overall F. Gives me hope for the future… and I am so grateful to God.

This is a very tough course on National Rd through St. Clairsville, OH. Over half the course is uphill that get increasingly steep in the second half of the race. Luckily, we had perfect running weather– 38 degrees, little wind and sunny. Got in a good rhythm from the beginning and finished 20 out of 56 as by far the oldest runner– won the 60 and up age group– but was the only runner in it.
Brent Roper ran the Corporate Challenge 5k and finished with a time of 21:12.
