1 Personal Best and several Age Group awards highlight the great weekend of racing for Team RunnersConnect

Andre Arseneau ran the Johnny Miles 5k, finishing this distance in the time of 22:19.

Johnny Miles was a local boy from Sydney Mines who twice won the Boston Marathon in the 1920s. I designed and wore a replica of the singlet he wore in his 1926 victory. The course was challenging with 2 lengthy uphill sections and the conditions were ideal. I had a good race about 30 seconds over last month’s PR. I think I placed 7th overall and 1st in my age group.

Eric Paradis ran the Woodmont Day 5k and finished with a time of 27:42.

My children wanted me to run this again since it goes by their Grandfathers house and they can sit on the porch and eat donuts while I try not to melt. Little fast start had me worried, found my place in the pack and settled down. Sun came out and blasted me for a good while. Was not feeling it, but then saw my time and busted it at the end, missed my PR by 3 seconds. But over a 4 minute improvement since I did this race in 2021 on a cooler day.

Stacey Brooks ran the Dennis 5 Miler and finished this race in the time of 38:10.

This was a tune up for Falmouth. Missed my goal of 38:05 but came pretty close and was pleased given the high humidity. I was hot but got through it.

Angelica Vannatta ran the Bix7 10k with a finishing time of 1:02:54, which was a PR!

Ran the largest non-marathon road race in the Midwest with 6000+ others. First race after 2 weeks of working the personalized training plan. It was a tough race (famous for its 7-9% grade start and 90% humidity!!) but I felt confident & strong the entire race!

Felt amazing & well-prepared for the challenge. Kicked it in to high-gear during the final qtr-mile thanks to practicing stride sprints!

Rodrigo Jara ran the Hermanos Macana Trail Race and finished in a time of 2:42:50.

🇵🇾 National Trail Running Championship 20k – 6th overall – 1st AG

Round 4 of the National Trail Racing Championship, I participated representing my club PAC. It was a race with a very beautiful circuit, spectacular trails with very nice views. I approached the race very conservatively during the first half, and in the second half, I tried to push harder to move up a few positions. I was left with a slightly bitter feeling for not achieving the third place since it was within my reach had I not gotten lost on a section of the race. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the race a lot, and it was a good experience. I had missed trail races!

Michael Iban ran a Virtual 10k and finished this distance in the time of 47:44.

Pretty good 10K tune-up. There were no sanctioned races within 50 miles so I ran a virtual. Because I didn’t have a measured 10K finish line, I programmed my watch for a metric finish. I think it worked fine.
