Bruno Ackermann ran a Half marathon Tune-up Race (Reusslauf) and finished with a time of 1:32:22, which was a PR!
My first-ever half marathon. Happy with the time and the entire tune-up race. Some lessons learned for my goal marathon in 7 weeks.
Courtney Mcclurkin ran the Cowtown Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:56:58.
Wow! This was my “post-residency PR”, which means it was my best half time AFTER podiatry residency, which certainly took a toll on my running. I’m now only about 3 minutes away from my actual PR, which was like 10 years ago. I was so thrilled with this time. Cowtown is known for being a little bit hilly by DFW standards, so I was just shocked I was able to hit this time, especially since my last best time was Houston 2024, which has super similar nice cold weather and is so flat. I’m originally from outside Philly and I ran the 400 in college, and I think I do kind of thrive with some small hills, so maybe that helped. But anyway, this race was so great and unexpected, and thank you!
Larry Shaw-salazar ran the USATF Masters Indoor Nationals 1 Mile and finished this distance in the time of 5:54, which was a PR!
My first 1500 on a track since college in the 90’s, It was so much fun attending the meet and getting to participate. Hamstring was tight before the race. I did a really good warm up. Didn’t have any problems with the hamstrings or the back during the race. Ran a little slower than I hoped, but considering what I have been through the past two weeks, I’m glad I finished this race with no injuries. Only top 8 got awards, I was 9th with 3 laps left so I tried to go after the guy well ahead of me. I caught him right before the bell and beat him handily. So I got a ribbon for 8th place.
Christina Kach ran the runDisney Princess Half Marathon and finished this race in the time of 2:12:38.
We achieved a HUGE PR today…just not with time. I stopped for TWENTY photos over the course of 13.1 miles. (Out of a possible 26 stops). Smashing my previous PR of 13 or 15 (I don’t remember). And, today was my 20th half-marathon too. And, finding growth in running not just through the clock – I did this race back in 2019, coming in at 2:12:27 and stopping for ONE photo. Today, 2:12:38 (only 11 seconds slower) and stopping for 20 photos.
