March begins with great race results for Team RunnersConnect

Russell Friedberg ran the the Little Rock half marathon finishing 1:33:07. This was a hilly course and the conditions were windy, rainy and cold. Russell placed 7th in his Age group and 53rd overall of 6500.

RussellWasn’t trying for a PR, just wanted to settle in and have a fun race – and was highly successful at that.

Ric Spargo ran his first half marathon since dealing with patellofemoral pain in the last two months. He completed it in 1:58:03 which was his 3rd best half marathon finishing time of the 12 he has run so far.

Ran this one in honor of my Dad who passed away exactly 2 years ago (as of the date of the race).

Glenna Champion raced a 5K this weekend in a finishing time of 19:29.

GlennaThis was a small race put on by local Catholic school to benefit their student programs

Ann Harambasic ran the Phoenix marathon which was her second marathon with PR of 5 minutes finishing in 4:36. This was a great second marathon for Ann which she says was a great race and learning experience for her.

Ann HThe back to back miles that the Coaches had me doing helped me minimize the impact of hitting the wall. Legs were relatively strong the entire run compared to my first marathon where I was dragging bricks around the course from miles 18 and on. I have learned a lot from the training and this experience.

Martina Fink Dimec ran her first race ever this weekend. She completed the half marathon in 2:28:10 and had a amazing experience accomplishing her goal.

MartinaIt was the first race a ran, and it was just perfect! Although it was challenging at times, I loved every minute of it. I’m definitely hooked.

Christophe Cadiou raced a half in Albany, GA having both a flat course and great weather with a finishing time of 1:28:58 which gave him a 1st in his group award.

Christophe I was hoping to run a couple of minutes faster, but this was a tune-up race for Boston in April, so I was not training specifically for this race. I was able to accomplish what I went there for though, ie rehearse my race routine and strategy. It was also a good way to train running hard on tired legs – I had a couple of tough workouts earlier that week.

Brian Wach ran his 3rd marathon in 4:22:31 which is a 16 minute improvement over his last marathon. He ran a smart race with consistent splits and did not hit the wall.

Overall, I am very happy with my results. Now that I have the strategy down for the race I need to improve on my pace. Thank you to Sarah for the support and coaching!!
