Brent Roper ran the Ironman Marathon and finished this race in the time of 12:22:00. This was a massive personal record by 30 minutes!
This was my second full Ironman. I improved my time by 30 minutes! My marathon time was 4 hours 12 minutes. After 6 1/2 hours on the bike I felt pretty good about that time. It was a grueling experience but satisfying. Thank you for your help!!!!
Joe Allen ran the Auggie’s 5K, finishing this distance in the time of 28:08.
I was out for a month with an infected ankle and just started running again last week, so wasn’t in my best shape but pleased with how it went. This was our first race that felt like fall. We had a steady headwind heading out. Started off easy and just went by feel rather than looking at my watch. Ran negative splits and won my age group, coming in 32 out of 95 which wasn’t bad as I was the oldest runner in the race. Very encouraging result. Feel better about training for my goal race– a half marathon in late November.
Bob Kirkby ran the Calgary Stampede 5k and finished with a time of 34:11.
Very difficult race. Stairs on course, very narrow pathway in places causing runners to bunch up and slow down. I ran the same race last year with a similar time: 34:17. I don’t think I will call this a goal race again – maybe just end-of-season workout race!!
El Jones ran the Nun Run 5k and completed this distance in the time of 28:28.
This was something I had never done before. I warmed up and then one of the timing guys approached me about pushing a resident of the nursing home/assisted living facility in a modified racing wheelchair. I said I would if they would let me push my dear friend I had worked with for years (and the reason I planned to run the race!), so that’s what I did. I didn’t use my watch. I just enjoyed giving my friend a 3.1 mile ride. Laughed and joked the entire time and still got her across the finish line as first female in chair and I took 1st in AG!! 😆 What a beautiful experience and I almost passed it by. Thank you Lord I didn’t miss out. ❤️
