Bryan Gallagher ran the Hudson Mohawk Half Marathon and finished with a time of 1:35:36.
Great racing weather- mid 40’s under cloudy skies.
Not a personal record, (did that when 49 years old) but did take 3 plus minutes off my 2025 time on same course. Just shy of 59 now.
First time racing in a super shoe. Happy with results – ain’t no spring chicken anymore ;).
Lauren Mccabe ran the Chicago Marathon and finished this race in the time of 3:56:50.
First marathon back in 19+ years.
Thank you, Hayley, for coaching me through this one!!
Even though I lapped my watch at each mile, I somehow missed some. Tried to fix it at the half marathon but then just gave up.
Tried my best to not weave too much but I definitely did move around a lot in the end.
Maresa Tabar ran the Chicago Marathon with a finishing time of 4:27:56.
It was hot and sunny.
Corrinne Mills ran the Chicago Marathon and finished in a time of 4:38:41. This was a new personal record by 2 minutes!
My 5th Chicago finish! A lot of things worked really well. I did a semi-serious job of carb loading in the 3 days leading up to the race, adding extra carbs to my meals and eating a cup or so of rice between meals. I’m not sure I got to the 600g (!) target the calculator gave me, but it was an almost uncomfortable amount to be eating. I do think it helped. Showed up early and got to nearly the front of the infamous (to me) Corral K, so that I wasn’t stuck behind people going random speeds at the start, though the course remained crowded for me basically the entire time. I think the new nutrition plan worked well, and I was able to consume all my gels (one every 40 minutes!) and most of the planned salt tablets. We had warm temps and full sun at the end, and there’s very little shade at noon in the final 10 miles, so lots of people were slowing down and walking, and I had to dodge around them, but mostly kept running, even if a bit slower than I hoped. Final outcome 4:38:41, 1095/2400 F45-49, back in the top half! I had hoped for a faster time, but given the conditions, taking two minutes off my PR is a huge win.
Jeffery Larson ran the DPR trail races 50 mile (37 miles) and finished this distance in the time of 6:51:53.
I have pretty mixed feelings about this race. Because of rain over the past week(s), many of the underpasses on the trail were flooded. The race course changed from a long out and back to 6.5 mile loops. If it had stayed the original course, I would have been forced to finish the 50 mile distance, but I’m getting ahead of myself.
Day before, I was preloading salt as the race day temperatures were going to get around 80F. Morning of the race, I had a good amount of carbs and salt. Because of the looped course, I had access to my drop bag every loop. So, I had pre-mixed 75g / 500 mL bottles that I would use to refill every loop. It worked well and I had minimum downtime. I stayed above 9min/mile pace and was feeling really smooth up to and through the marathon distance. As I got closer to 30 miles, my stomach started to bother me, my pace slowed, and my hr started to creep upward. I took a walking break and then resumed running around 10 min/mile pace. At mile 33, I started walking full time. By the time I had finished walking the rest of the 4.5 remaining in the loop I was on, I was done. I didn’t want to potentially walk for 12 more miles, my hip was starting to hurt, and this was an experimental distance. I also have a marathon in 2 months that I didn’t care to jeopardize. So, I finished the loop and let the race folks know I was dropping out. No regrets. I think when I come back to trying this distance, I’ll need more weekly miles and peaking with back to back 20+ mile days.
Mario Ortiz ran the Chicago Marathon and completed this race event in the time of 3:30:44.
A very warm day. I ran the first Half in 1:43 and the second Half in 1:47.7. Not what I expected but it was the most I could do today. After mile #21 my legs gave out and began to slow down. I felt my legs began to become stiff and it was impossible to open my stride. The fueling before the race and during the race went very good and as planned.
Amber Williamson ran the Berlin Marathon and finished with a time of 3:57:27.
Awesome crowd support and beautiful day (warm at end).
Bruce Bergeson ran the Saint George Marathon and finished this race event in the time of 4:17:43.
It was very hot at the end.
Vanessa Hubers did a 5 km 12 minute run (1.77 miles), finishing this distance in the time of 12:00.
Wasn’t feeling 100% this morning and may have gone out a little too hot. But I was only 0.01 miles from my goal!
