Travis Dowell ran the Vegas Golden Night & Day 10K and finished with a time of 1:04:25.
This was a course I am familiar with for half marathons, which had a difficult to follow three circle part of the course. The 10K was much easier with an out and back 3.1 mile loop done twice. Going out was downhill, and coming back was uphill, 37 feet of elevation per mile. Official pace was 10:29 and I was second place in the 70 – 99 age group, 30 seconds behind the first AG place winner. I was the oldest runner in the race, but not the slowest, finishing 39th of 66 runners.
Corrinne Mills ran the CARA MPH Run 10k and finished this distance in the time of 58:15.
Very happy with my pacing and a strong push at the end, though the last bit of it didn’t count because out of necessity, they only count your time from gun time to when you cross the last timing pad, and I didn’t make it to the 6.6 mile mark (timing pads are every .4 miles). Maybe next year! Fun gimmick for a race, and I live walking distance to the venue, so I’ll be back for sure. https://www.athlinks.com/event/375991/results/Event/1133266/Course/2668319/Bib/338
