A spectacular weekend for Team RunnersConnect as athletes notch 2 Personal Bests

Bruce Bergeson ran the Nebo Half Marathon and finished this race in the time of 1:51:45.

I have had a series of nagging injuries that have prevented me from completing many training runs. I felt good enough to run and completed the race without problem but slower than desired. It is great to run and enjoy the scenery and the energy of the other runners!

Walter Gonçalves ran the Tucson Marathon Tuneup 10k and finished with a time of 48:51, which was a PR!

This was my first 10k, so I guess it is a PR. No extenuating circumstances. This race had elevation gain so kind of uncomfortable at spots. It was also sunny and 75 degrees. I finished 76 of 629 overall. Sixth in my age and gender group (45 – 49) (I’m 48). I used the calculator to predict my marathon time from this finish and it is about a minute faster at 3:44:43 than my PR of 3:45:21. I would like to run at least 3:40:00 for the Tucson Marathon on December 14.

Timothy Whitney ran the River Run 1/2 Marathon with a finishing time of 1:38:39.

1:38:39 with an average pace of 7:32. First time under 1:40 in the last four years. Ran 1:46:45 last year at this race. Eight mins. faster this year due to being in better shape, doing strength training and losing a few pounds. Had a strong pace the entire race. Negative split the race and finished the last three miles under 7:20 pace. Easy course but still felt great with my effort level. Lucky it was a cool day in Cleveland which helped my overall performance. Running the Columbus Ohio 1/2 in six weeks and would love to go under 1:38. Thanks for all the support.

Andrea Granger ran the QCM (Queen City Half Marathon) and completed this race event in the time of 2:15:25. This was a PR by 30 seconds!

It felt so good, I could have started faster, but I didn’t trust! I’ve run myself into a terrible race previously – so this was amazing to get a PR while also feeling ok. Didn’t have the urge to walk at all.
