1 Personal Best and several Age Group awards highlight the fantastic weekend of racing for Team RunnersConnect

Siuberto Socarras ran The Iguana Man Endurance Weekend 5k and finished with a time of 32:39.

I placed 3rd in my age category. This race has heightened my appreciation for the importance of what you eat and how you sleep days before a race. I can’t wait for my next race.

Dennis Detweiler ran the Philly 10K and finished this distance in the time of 46:33. This was a personal record by 01:15.

Negative split this tune-up race.

Bob Ferguson ran the Annapolis 10 Miler and finished this race in the time of 1:34:02.

Ran the Annapolis 10 miler. This is a famous race in Maryland and 2024 was the 49th running. This run is also famous for the rolling hills on the course. So, for a tune-up race early in my training course, I felt good about running an overall 9:17 pace. For my previous half-marathons, I had a goal of being under 90 min. at the 10M point, so at 94 min on rolling hills for 10M was a pretty good indicator of where I am in training and I feel a bit ahead of where I thought I would be at this point, so that is good news and this was a good race

Rodrigo Jara ran the Maratón Internacional de Asunción Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:21:28.

My goal was to set a new personal best in the distance, PB is 1h20m59s. The weather was ideal, 8 Celsius, and almost no wind, you can’t ask for better weather than this in Paraguay. I felt great during the race and tried to push the pace a bit more from kilometer 6, but that was my best. I think my lack of strength training affected me, as I’ve been inconsistent with it. There were 2 uphill sections towards the end of the race (where I lost some crucial seconds for my PB), followed by a downhill finish. I couldn’t achieve my goal, but I learned a lot from this race. I’ll continue training for the Amsterdam Marathon. All in all I’m happy with the result; I was able to smile and enjoy the last 5km. 9th overall, 2nd AG.
