Another solid weekend of racing for the RunnersConnect to kick off the month of March.
Both Brent Frissora and Eva Wang ran huge PR’s in the Broad Street Run.
Eva Wang ran 1:10:45 for the 10-mile distance. Coach Blake was especially pleased with Eva’s splits, as they were amazingly even and that certainly shows how far she has grown as a runner. Her ability to execute the race plan is an amazing strength and will really serve her well as she continues to drop huge chunks off her personal bests.
Brent Frissora’s race was a huge breakthrough as well. He finished 54th overall out of 33.982 finishers and it is a tremendous indicator as he begins preparation for the summer racing season and a fall marathon.
Also running well was Tim Parker, who ran 59:44 to finish under 60-minutes for the first time this season. Tim didn’t feel particularly well when he toed the line, but mustered up a lot of his courage to grind out a great performance.
Jeff Burrows ran 30:50 for 5 miles and finished 3rd overall. While the time wasn’t a PR, competing for third place was a good indication of Jeff’s competitiveness so far this year.
Pat Naets traveled all the way from Belgium to Canada and finished up her second half marathon in 2 hours and 23 minutes. Pat has taken a lot of big steps with her running this winter and she’s not far from having a huge breakthrough.
Congrats to everyone who ran this weekend and for those who didn’t, keep training hard for your next chance at a PR!
