We will have 3 shuttle pickups, one around 10:30am, one around noon-ish and another at 2pm or so. We will have exact times once we have collected all travel info.

We will drop you off at the airport on Sunday between 11am and 1pm after the morning run. So, plan to fly out in the afternoon sometime.

Accomodations

We will be staying at the Residence Inn, Framingam/Boston.

Each room will be a full suite, which features separate areas for living, working, and sleeping; and are also equipped with complimentary high-speed internet to keep you connected.

The hotel also has a fitness center and pool and is nearby to the Boston course for each access to our training venues.

Training and Experience Level

We schedule all running locations on the Boston course. We have athletes running from 3-20 miles during the weekend depending on their training level. We will do our best to make sure you cover all important parts of the course during the retreat weekend.

If you need help determining what would be best for you, we can help you determine the optimal runs for you. This ensures that the training while at the retreat will fit perfectly with your training plan.

All speeds and experience levels are welcome.

As you know, we don’t care how fast or slow you are, we just want you to have fun and run well!

Food

Food will be provided for you. A light breakfast of coffee, bagels and bars will be available before the runs. A larger breakfast or lunch will be available after each run. Dinner will also be provided each night, either catered or at a local restaurant.

If you have dietary restrictions, we will collect this information when we take the final payment and we will accommodate anything you need.

Registration

The deposit due at signup is $595.

The deposit is refundable up until we ask to confirm the final payment June 5th. At this point, the deposit will not be refundable.

We will then ask for the final payment, which will be due no later than two weeks before we leave for the trip.

Once your deposit is confirmed, we will email you confirmation and keep you updated on the itinerary, etc.

We will also collect travel details and arrange airport pickups when we collect the final payment. We will then email you 2-3 weeks with exact airport pickup times and all travel details.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

We’ve put together an amazing itinerary that will be an awesome balance of hard running, recovery and strength sessions, coaching and learning opportunities, free time to relax, and of course enjoying the scenic beauty of Flagstaff.

Wednesday we will kick off the day with a run of 3-6 miles (but you can go longer or shorter if needed). We’ll start with some warm-up drills and get you own your way. We will then have dinner and a fire/marshmallow and wine social to get to know each other.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday will begin with a run. Thursday is an optional track workout (or you can run easy). Friday is 6 to 12 miles (again, you can easily go longer or shorter) and Saturday is when we do a longer run. Before each run we will have a dynamic warm-up session (teaching you how to do each move) and after the runs we will have active stretching sessions.

We will return to the hotel for showers and lunch, followed by lectures on nutrition, training and injury prevention and also 1-on-1 coaching sessions (which includes an analysis of your running form). Later in the afternoon we will have strength training or drills sessions and of course solo time for you to nap and relax (and a trip to the Grand Canyon Saturday afternoon).

This exact itinerary is subject to change, but will be mostly what we follow.

FAQ

We'll do our best to answer most questions here, but feel free to email support@runnersconnect.net if there's anything we haven't covered.

Yes, absolutely. If your family wants to join you to travel, but not participate in the running or coaching activities, they are free to join at no additional cost.

If your spouse wants to join in the retreat activities, then the cost is $900.

This covers the food, transportation and coaching. If you’d like to bring your spouse, make your initial deposit and then email jeff@runnersconnect.net and we can send you the information to get your spouse signed up.

We’ll be abiding by all local Covid laws, rules and regulations. You will be required to wear masks during group lectures and when we are out to eat, but not on runs or during strength sessions. These rules, of course, may change if local regulations change. We will email you as soon as we hear anything.

We will give you a 100% refund, no questions asked, up until June 5th. At this point, we need to make our payment for the rooms, so no refunds will be issued after this date.

If there is something that prevents us from holding the camp (i.e. the state shuts down or mandates quarantine) then any payments you have made will be refunded 100%.

More than likely, yes. Just let us know in advance what needs you have and we will be sure to accommodate. In 7 years running retreats, we’ve never had a dietary need we couldn’t accommodate.

Unless your race is less than 3 weeks away from the retreat date, then the retreat itself will not interfere with your training. We will work with you to adjust your workouts and make sure you get the most from the retreat.
