Sweet Racing this Valentine’s weekend for Team RunnersConnect

Eric Eidsmoe ran the Ice Cube Half marathon in Mt Pleasant, Michigan as a training run finishing 7-8 minutes faster than his goal at 1:57:22.  Conditions were cold but beautiful with no wind which made for a great running. Eric was felt so good he was reeling people in the final miles of the race.

ericFun race on a cold day. I treated it as a regular training run, but felt really good and went with the flow and a pace that felt good.

Bas van Delft raced a very windy 10 miler and bested his previous time by 53 seconds to finish at 1:06:11. Bas is on a PR roll in the 10 mile distance. This is his second PR in 2 months taking over 2 and half minutes off his 10 mile time.

basVery content with the accomplishment and quite curious on how much I can improve on the Half Marathon I’m running next month.

Russell Friedberg ran the California 10/20 Race as a fun run finishing at this 10 mile race in 1:11:04. Russell ran a very smart pace while negative splitting this race with the last 2 miles the fastest. He placed 7th in his age group and 103 overall of out over 5,000 runners.

russellVery well organized and nice course. I’d highly recommend the race and the organization if you live in CA or TX . A little hilly, nice scenery, pleasant group of runners

Mike Sheridan ran a hilly 20 mile race finishing at 2:40:19 as preparation for his lead up to Boston in April. This course mimicked the hilly portions of the Boston course. Mike had some issues with shoe selection and queasy tummy as well as a slight psoas issue that kept him from running the race as fast as he had hoped.

With a decent recovery and 2 months to go to race day I am still on track.

Dean Morley hit a bit of luck with ideal running conditions for his half marathon. Dean ran a nice personal best time of 1:22:39 which is a 1 minute PR. He placed 24th in his age group and 115 overall out of over 7,000 runners.

dean-morleyThanks RC – had the recommended half race plan in my head and tried to follow..Happy days!
