Springing into the competition for Team RunnersConnect

Rajeev Singh ran a 3:17 PR in the half marathon finishing in 2:25:04. Rajeev ran a smart and consistent race showing many signs fitness gains.

RajeevIn all 7 HMs ran by me before this (last one year), I always struggled and lost my pace substantially towards end (3-4 km). However, this time, I could do it at very consistent pace throughout despite having non stop elevation gains as compared to past races. Look forward to improve further.

Brian Schmidt raced in the USATF 8k Masters Road Champs this weekend placing 18th overall with a finishing time of 27:24.

BrianWas shooting for top 15 but couldn’t quite hold on at the end.

Siobhan Donegan ran a 2 minute and 33 second PR in the half marathon with a finishing time of 1:40:33. Coming off a great nights sleep and feeling amazing Siobhan got lucky with some amazing weather which allowed her to believe she could run a PR. She took it mile-by-mile and nailed this race.

SiobhanThe race was probably just what I needed as I continue to keep my motivation HIGH as I countdown to Boston.

Bobby Smith ran his first ultramarathon the Mount Cheaha 50K which is a climb to the top of Alabama (highest point in Alabama. Bobby had an awesome race experience on this tough course running a time 5:44 placing 18th out of 318 racers.

bobbyMy legs were strong and my training prepared me for the event. This was a tune-up race to prepare me for my 50 mile ultra on 3/29 but because it was my first ultra and the farthest I’ve ever ran, it felt like a goal race. I’m very pleased with my performance.

Florence Gillis ran a stellar and gutsy half marathon with a finishing time of 1:36:35 where she placed top overall female. Florence ran on the race on feel,  trying to hold on mile by mile and pushing herself when the going got tough.

This was a great race for me. My confidence going in was great in terms of my training but the last couples of races (before RunnersConnect) I was not thrilled with my times.

Tom Benoit ran his 6th marathon at the Hyannis Marathon finishing in a new PR of 4:48:25. He ran a much stronger race than in previous marathon attempts and broken the 5 hr barrier that has eluded in his last marathons.

Since joining RC about a year ago, I have knocked 28 minutes off my marathon PR. Also, while it seems like a minor item, I did not talk a walk break the entire 26.2 miles – a first. I was never able to even come close to being able to run the full marathon. RC’s training process has significantly improved my stamina. Thank you!!!!!

Cathy Smith ran the Marathon in Jacksonville, Fl with Donna and finished 4:03:04 which was a 29 minute PR!

cathyAfter I completed my first and only marathon a few years ago, I said I would never run another one again. It was horrible and lacked any resemblance of fun. This time, I actually enjoyed it! Yes, I had to dig really deep the last few miles, but I was so much better prepared. I ran faster and stronger….and am so proud of my negative splits!

Pippa ran the Half at the Hamptons as a training run managing to still PRed by 9 minutes in the half.  She was able to not walk in this race except for 3 short water stops and which is big improvement from previous race experiences.

pippa9 minutes faster than 3 months ago, 42 pounds lighter than a year ago, feeling accomplished! I am a much stronger runner than I was before!
