The cold didn’t freeze out the RunnerConnect Team

deanDean Roberts ran a 10K PR in his second race of the year. What’s more is he PRed by 4:26 over a 10K he ran 6 months ago!! Dean crossed the finish line at 48:07. He is on a roll in his first year of running and racing.

A very cool encounter with a spectator made Dean’s day when the spectator jumped in beside him and started yelling go, go, he’s catching up to you, you don’t want to let him pass you as they sprinted the last 50 meters across the line.

“Dean said on this race in particular I really appreciated the extra encouragement.”

Mike Sheridan torn it up on a very hilly and muddy cross country race in which helped his team score. All this after had run 18 miles the day before. This was his last race in this series and the next up for him is Boston.

“Really tough on the quads both up and downhill so I expect a reaction tomorrow – but hey, it’ll make me stronger for my “A” race – Boston! ”

pushbanPushban Rajaivan ran his personal best half marathon with a 2:34:37. In very cold temps and windy conditions he was able to run strong to have his last mile his fastest mile.

“My pace from mile 4-9 was perfect , I felt very good. However It was little tired after 9 to keep the pace. I tried to finish my last mile as fast as I can. Feeling good, hoping much better result for the next one.”

ericaErica Melton ran as very strong effort at the Race for the Grasshopper 5K.  After battling a cold and bronchitis for the last two weeks, Erica went into race with no exceptions and in fact she decided not to look at her garmin. She ran a controlled and consistent effort through mile 3 and took a peak at her time only to be surprised at the great time which gave her the motivation to finish it up strong with a 33:31.

“So with that and the awesome volunteers giving words of encouragement, I put it in a gear I didn’t know I had left and sprinted uphill to the finish line!”
