6 PRs from the Mile to the Marathon – Team RC Runs Strong into April.

Greg Kline ran the ORRRC Marathon in Xenia, Ohio finishing in 3:35:52 which was a personal best by 6 minutes. He had great weather conditions although had to work through nausea to finish strong.

GregKI did not hit a wall though, I was moving for the entire race. It was just those last two miles that were really rough. I played close concentration to my running form on this race and the economy of my steps. It seemed to help.

Bas van Delft raced the Slotloop 10K in Oostvoorne crossing the finish line in 39:39.

basGoal race and last race of a running circuit consisting of 7 races. I did 4 of them while running with Runners Connect and saw my times get closer to my nearest competitor and last race even beat him in a Half Marathon. Today I beat him again by 20 seconds on the final 10K and although I was 1 point short on beating my competitor overall, it makes me feel very good to have been improving significantly over the last four months. Overall result 4th in my age grade M35. I cannot wait to create my next goal and see myself improve even more!

Jessica Wallace ran the 6K event  at the Adim-Adim  Forest Team Marathon in Istanbul, Turkey finishing in 29:36.

Nearly 5 minutes but my previous runs had just been at an easy pace, not in a race. This is on hilly loop through the forest so it is tough to settle into a nice, steady pace. However, I did push myself both on and off the hills and I was proud of myself for doing that.

Emily Pilotte ran the Spring Tune Up 1/2 Marathon in Duxbury, MA finishing in  1:42:03 which turned out to be  26 second PR.

EmilyWent out easy because I’ve been fighting a cold, but turns out I went out too easy because I negative split by 3 minutes. At least I was able to clock some decent splits the last half of the race, which gives me some confidence heading into my first marathon next month. Was a nice course in a beautiful town, and very well done for such a small race.

Claire O’Halloran ran the Great Ireland Run Dublin 10K finishing in 56:34. The course was much more challenging with 4 miles uphill. Claire knew the course wasn’t a PB but focused on smart and evening pacing. Though the windy provided an extra challenge as she made her way downhill to the finish, she still ran a strong effort and finished well.

While I would have loved a lower finishing time I think I honestly ran this to the best of my ability on the day. It was a challenge but I didn’t shirk from it so overall great racing experience.

Lana Britt ran her first 15K at Dallas Running Club Tal Morrison 15k finishing in 1:21:47 taking a 2nd in age group award. Lana ran a very strong race and pacing perfectly throughout with her last mile the fastest.

First race at this distance and official time was 1:21:47. Placed 2nd in my age group!

Greg Myers ran the Bartram Breeze 10k in Hamburg, PA with his wife finishing in 53:45.

GMyersThis was the first 10K my wife and I ran together. She’s been stepping up from racing mainly 5K’s, so I was really happy to run her first 10K with her. She came in 3rd place in her age category!

Richard Grogan ran the Big D marathon in Dallas, TX finishing with a time of 4:29:10.

R GrogranI ran the (Fort Worth) Cowtown full on Feb 23 and was well short of my goal. I wanted redemption. I missed a PR by 6 minutes but did shave 30 min off of my Cowtown finish time.

Michelle Hall ran the Go ST Louis Half Marathon  with her family as a training run in preparation for the Boston Marathon with a finishing time of 2:04.

MichelleHallI ran with my family. It was a training run, part of my long run for the week. My sister completed her first half marathon and my son did his second and improved his time by 25 minutes. Great morning overall.

Robert Carroll raced his first half marathon at the Great Bay Half Marathon in Newmarket, NH with an impressive time of 1:53:09.

First half marathon, and first race in over 20 years!

Matthew Stewart raced the Queen Street Golden Mile in Auckland, New Zealand  finishing in 4:59 which is a 1 second PR over his last mile race at the same event.

M StewartI won my division! but more of a thrill was getting my medal presented by Sir John Walker, Olympic gold medalist, former WR holder and first person under 3:50 for the mile and 100 sub-4 mile finishes. There was a course change this year so the course was not as fast but I still managed a 1 second improvement.
