The last weekend of May ends in a bang for Team RunnersConnect with 9PRs, one marathon debut and one come back race..

Dean Roberts had his marathon debut at the Ottawa Marathon finishing in a stellar time of 3:45:20.  Running this marathon completely without a watch or garmin as he forgotten it at home on its charger. He also had to work through a calf spasm about 12K into the race which he was able to stretch out and than run out the rest of it over the final 10K.

Dean1st Marathon — CRUSHED IT! The 40th running of The Ottawa Marathon was completely awesome. Very happy that I was able to run the race by feel and come within 20 seconds of my goal time. I might leave the darned thing at home for all my races. It was liberating to not be looking at my wrist every 10 minutes. I’m considering this goal attained, I easily spent more than 20 seconds weaving around and slapping hands.

Bill Leppert raced the  Bill Gatton Honda Memorial 5K in Bristol, VA coming across the finish line in the time of 19:26 which was a PR of 1 minute and 6 seconds.

BillIron level is really improving.  My company is the second biggest sponsor in this race to benefit ALS, Make a wish foundation and no child left unfed. We had 50 people in the race. This would have been a masters win by more than 30 seconds last year but I still got the Grand Master. Also another goal accomplished by barely beating the new kid (57 year old) that has been wining everything around here lately; big confidence builder. Thanks to all RC and coaches esp Jamie Dodge for the stretches, magnesium, and Iron suggestions and keeping an eye on my training.

Ricardo Lopez ran the Mountains2Beach Marathon in Ventura, CA completing the distance in the time of 3:41:16 which was a PR of over 29 minutes.

RicardoI felt good from start to finish. Well, almost finish. My fitness has improved enough that I could tangibly feel that I pushed the wall back to mile 24 from it’s normal location at mile 20. Thanks so much for the training guidance and encouragement to the coaches and other members here at RunnersConnect !

Stacy Thomas raced the Brat(wurst) Fest in Madison, WI coming across the finish line with a time of 49:51 which gave her a 2:21 PR in the distance.

Top 50 overall, 18th female, 9th for age/gender group!

Karl Olav Gravdal ran the Edinburgh Marathon in Edinburgh, Scottland finishing in the time of 3;20:17 which was a 9 minute and 57 second PR.

KarlA ten minute improvement from my PR from a year ago. I lost motivation after 15k when we started meeting other people heading towards the finish line (half marathon runners first, then the elite marathoners). After about 28k we reached the turning point and my motivation returned, as I knew that all the people I faced were far behind me. Eventually I increased the speed and the last kilometres I don’t think I was passed by anyone.

Eric Eidsmoe ran the Bayshore Half Marathon in Traverse City, MI coming across the finish line with a time of 1:52:03.

Eric EMy third Half of the month and only 6 days removed from my PR. I was still only 2 minutes 20 seconds slower than my best time though. My effort level was slightly lower than the other 2 and I took the opportunity to enjoy the course and the experience more than I would for a PR-type race. Getting to meet Jamie was an added bonus too!

Pebble Williams ran the Boston Run to Remember 13.1 race finishing in the time of  2:17:23 which was a PR of over 2 minutes.

PebblesFollowed the general race plan. Conservative start, increased effort to run with a pack, chose mental toughness at mile 8 to talk myself out of quitting and at mile 10, started picking people off.  PR’d by 2 min, 20 sec in the Boston Run to Remember today. Unbelievable!!! Thank You RC coaches and community!

Gunnar Engblom ran the Lima 42K in Lima, Peru finishing the distance in the time of 3:24:49 which was a PR of 12 minutes and 49 seconds.

I joined RC at the beginning of the year with the purpose to BQ and I doubled my training load compared to last year during the same period but without getting injured. I peaked at 72 miles.  I smashed my former Master PR last weekend and qualified to Boston 2015, thanks to RC. Perfectly executed race.

Sandi Dressel ran the Solider Field 10 Miler in Chicago finishing in the time of 1:53:05.

The weather was great, my brother and sister were running with me and it is the first weekend of summer! This is a great race that goes by the beautiful lakefront and finishes in the stadium on the grass of Soldier Field. It is the only times I run out on a professional football field! There is a huge screen where you can see yourself finish. My time was about the same as last year so I can not claim a PR but it was enjoyable

Stephen Astels ran the Ottawa Marathon in Canada completing the distance with a time of 4:01:02 which was a 23 minute PR!

StephenAstelsEnded with a 4:01:02 time (4:01:03 on my garmin), which is a bit off my 4:00 goal, but freaking 23 minutes faster than my previous PB! So I’m pretty happy. I credit RunnersConnect for giving me an awesome (and clearly effective) training schedule, as well as the treadmill I bought in January that gave me no excuse to miss a run!

Neil Blenkinsop ran the EMF Half Marathon in Edinburghm UK finishing with the time of 1:29:28.

NeilBFirst race in a year. Started working with RunnersConnect 9 weeks ago. The 10 months prior to that, due to injury, had seen a matter of only a couple of weeks running. Within my training plan my longest run to date had been 12km so was a little unsure how I would go over the 21.1km. Was unable to go through the gears late in the race but was pleasantly surprised I was able to hold a half decent pace throughout. Not the fastest I’ve ever ran but not a bad starting point for the rest of my journey.

Michelle McBlurry ran the Warwick Pentahrun Half marathon which in the time of 1:57:09 which a PR by 1 minute. This was the first of 4 races in a series she race in one day. She also the 4.6k which was a cross country race and finished in 23:40. Next up was the 5K and she completed it in 24:02. The fourth race was 10K where she ran 1;00:01.30. And the 5th race of the day was the 1500m where she flew to a time of 6:10.

MichelleFinal race of the Pentathrun. I ran as fast as I could in a tutu… and beat my teenagers! Great end to a fantastic running festival.  5 races over the weekend totaling 42.2kLots of long low hills. Plenty left at the end which bodes well for my marathon in 6 weeks.

Mike Grogan ran the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City, MI coming across the finish line with the time of 3:25:48 which was a PR of 3 minutes and 5 seconds.

MikeGLove your great site here and to Jeff and all the other awesome coaches… you guys really rock!!

Coach Sarah Crouch won the citizens race at the Bolder Boulder 10k in 35:11, a great time given the difficult course and 5,000 feet of altitude.
